Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst, you’ll support our customers by maintaining data pipelines, data quality, and delivering insights that help them succeed. You’ll work with the latest tech stack in a fast-paced environment alongside senior engineers, analysts, and software developers.

We provide cloud-based software and analytics, world-leading market data, and data-driven strategy consulting. Our clients include top-tier airlines, airports, freight forwarders, governments, shippers, investors, and other industry stakeholders.

Founded in 2022 by a core team of former aviation strategy consultants, Rotate has grown rapidly. We now have offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia and a diverse team of around 50 professionals, including strategy consultants, data scientists, software developers, and data engineers. Demand for our work continues to grow strongly, and we are therefore looking for a talented strategy consulting manager to strengthen our team.

What you'll do

When joining Rotate as a Business Analyst, you will: 

• Join a rapidly growing team working on cutting-edge SaaS products for the air cargo industry 

• Work at the intersection of Product, Customer Success, and Data Engineering - giving you visibility across the business and multiple paths to grow into more technical, commercial, or strategic roles 

• Collaborate closely with our Data Engineering team to maintain and improve client data pipelines, with increasing ownership over business logic and data architecture over time 

• Play a hands-on role in bringing new airline and cargo customers live, from initial data requests and technical configurations through to go-live, including travel to client sites to build relationships and deepen your industry expertise 

• Work closely with fellow Analysts, Data Engineers, Developers, and Product teams in a collaborative, international environment 

• Build real expertise in the air cargo industry, a specialized, globally connected sector where technical and commercial skills are highly valued 

• Your work will focus on ensuring our data infrastructure runs smoothly and our customers stay engaged. You'll be the analytical backbone that enables senior team members to focus on product development, customer relationships, and consulting. 

Your key responsibilities include:

• Data Operations & Quality

  • Monitor and maintain existing data pipelines in close collaboration with our senior engineers — with the opportunity to influence and build logic as you grow in the role 

  • Support data ingestion processes and ensure pipeline health 

  • Validate customer data inputs and flag quality issues 

  • Monitor and perform outlier detection and data correction 

• Customer Implementations & Onboarding

  • Lead technical aspects of new customer onboardings, including data requests and initial system configurations 

  • Assist with customer training and data integration 

• Customer Analytics & Adoption

  • Track product usage metrics and customer health indicators 

  • Develop and monitor dashboards and reports to visualize key user metrics 

• Customer Support & Enablement

  • Provide first-level technical and functional support 

  • Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests from internal teams and customers 

  • Collect customer feedback and translate it into actionable insights for Product teams

Your qualifications

• A technical or quantitative degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar)

• 2-3+ years of experience working with data in a technical environment

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL - you use these tools daily

• Experience with modern data platforms and cloud-based tools

• Analytical mindset with strong communication skills - comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in cross-cultural, fast-paced startup environments

• Malaysian resident with valid work permit and fluent in English

Nice to have:

• Experience in aviation, logistics, or B2B SaaS

• Familiarity with Databricks, Airflow, or similar data orchestration tools

• Background in customer success or support analytics
