Job description

Our Vision

At Rotate, we are revolutionising the air cargo industry through data-driven consulting and the development of innovative SaaS products. Our mission is to empower industry professionals to transform data into actionable insights, driving more effective commercial and strategic decision-making.

With offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia, our team of approximately 35 experts—including strategy consultants, air cargo specialists, and technology professionals—is committed to delivering practical solutions that create significant value for the industry.

About the Role

We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking an experienced Principle Cloud Platform Engineer to take ownership of our infrastructure. This role includes maintaining our current platform while improving and extending it to meet future needs. You will have a lot of autonomy and responsibility on projects starting with design and finishing with the full implementation and adoption in the organization or with clients.

Our infrastructure is maintained and deployed using Terraform, and we leverage the AWS stack extensively, utilising services like EKS, Cognito, IAM, DocumentDB, CloudWatch, and more. When AWS services fall short, we integrate best-in-class technologies such as Databricks, Okta, GitHub, and ArgoCD.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will manage these tools to ensure the availability, performance, security and scalability of Rotate’s services.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and supporting our SaaS platform and Rotate’s operational infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure for our SaaS platform.

  • Collaborating with product teams and effectively communicating with management.

  • Supporting operations by deploying and configuring infrastructure.

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, security and performance of systems.

  • Proactively improving and updating the platform to adhere to the latest security and performance standards.

Job requirements

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years of experience as a Platform, DevOps or Cloud Engineer in a professional environment.

  • You have hands-on experience with different AWS services (VPC, IAM, S3, EC2, Lambda, Cloud watch, KMS, RDS, EKS Mongo/DocumentDB, SQS)

  • Experience with concepts like event-sourcing, infra structure as code (terraform), CICD, scrum, micro-services, SSO, RBAC

  • Knowledge on Kubernetes, Docker, (R)DBMS (MongoDB), Databricks (Spark)

  • Experience with programming languages like Typescript (angular/nodejs/nestjs) and Python are a big plus.

  • You are inquisitive, proactive, and comfortable in an informal yet professional environment that offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

  • You thrive in cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages is a valuable asset.

  • You are a resident of Malaysia.

  • You possess a valid work permit for Malaysia.
