Analytics Engineer

As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll build data pipelines and models that power our products. You’ll translate business into logic, ensuring our products deliver actionable insights. You’ll work with modern cloud technologies in a collaborative, international environment.

We are Rotate. We help key players across the global air cargo and logistics industry make better commercial and strategic decisions. We provide cloud-based software and analytics, world-leading market data, and data-driven strategy consulting. Our clients include top-tier airlines, airports, freight forwarders, governments, shippers, investors, and other industry stakeholders.

Founded in 2022 by a core team of former aviation strategy consultants, Rotate has grown rapidly. We now have offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia and a diverse team of around 50 professionals, including strategy consultants, data scientists, software developers, and data engineers. Demand for our work continues to grow strongly, and we are therefore looking for talented Analytics Engineers to strengthen our team.

What you'll do

When joining Rotate as an Analytics Engineer, you will:

• Join a rapidly growing team building cutting-edge SaaS products for the air cargo industry

• Work closely with Data Engineers, Software Developers, and Product teams in a collaborative, international environment

• Play a key role in transforming business requirements into scalable data solutions

• Bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights that drive client decisions

Your key responsibilities include:

• Data Infrastructure & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and manage data pipelines that ingest data from various sources

  • Develop and maintain scalable data models that power our web applications and analytical tools

  • Process and organize both structured and unstructured data, ensuring quality, reliability, and accessibility

  • Execute pipelines and prepare datasets for data science teams

• Analytics & Business Logic

  • Translate business questions into data logic, ensuring products are tailored to client needs

  • Investigate trends, perform ad-hoc analysis, and generate insights that guide client decisions

  • Contribute to internal data standards, documentation, and best practices for analytics and engineering

Your qualifications

1. A technical or quantitative degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar)

2. 3+ years of experience in data extraction, transformation, and loading in modern data infrastructure

3. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL - you use these tools daily

4. Excited about working with modern technologies in data modeling, warehousing, and cloud platforms

5. Curious, proactive, and comfortable in an informal professional setting with freedom and responsibility

6. Comfortable working in cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams

7. Malaysian resident with valid work permit

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, Databricks, and Apache Spark

• Experience in aviation, logistics, or B2B SaaS
